This looks like the big reunion jam with both Coffee and Trister joining us once again to jam and enjoy our good time with Michael, our old Albany alum. We haven’t been together for quite a while and big things are predicted.

I’m sorry TheGind, I do worship you and your legendary and prolific effort, but I hate the ‘blog’ format. I’m sure I will have to learn to love it, but I am old fashoned and relish the memory of Deadstein.com being the best looking website on the Internet.

Well, the best plans can have a monkey wrench thrown in them as Trister is too ill to make tonight’s jam. It really is a shame because I was looking forward to that SUNYA reunion and I assume so was Michael. He really loves Trister’s playing. In anycase, let’s see what the wind blows in tonight because I’m sure it’s still gonna be fun. Questions still to be answered, Will Coffee-Boy bail now that Trister is baling? Will Jason make it and if he does how late will he be. If he makes it and it is late, will we be in any shape to play once he gets there?

Wow, after weeks of playing to no one but Rich’s freaky friend Scott and the woman on the other end his cell phone, Deadstein had a public viewing for the masses. It was the arrival of Michael and his following that enabled Deadstein to show others just what we were about.
Initially we were to have Trister jam with us getting a SUNYA reunion thing going, but due to illness on his part it was not to be. Jason was good enough to join us after 10:00pm at the last moment and to our surprise Bayside Alan was there to jam with us during the first half of the evening. We therefore had a nice variety of guitarists. In addition, we had a nice variety of drummers as Coffee Boy blessed us with his presence and his presents in the form of Coffee. In addition, he was good enough not to bail when he heard Trister was bailing. I think in the end he didn’t regret this decision as we had a hot night with an appreciative audience.
In addition to regulars like Stu and Freaky Scott, there was Bayside JB. Then there was the Michael’s entourage including a big guy with dark hair that I have seen but don’t know and then there was the return of Dan, Dan the Van-man. We haven’t seen that guy in years but he really seems to like us every time he is there.
With all these eyes and ears upon us we seemed to let our hair down a bit more than is typical when Jason is around and we played some songs pretty hard. We continued on a few minutes past midnight pushed by the energy a Michael evening brings. The fact the he spins, jumps, meditates, hoots and howls at our music seems to give us that little extra spurt of energy that keeps us going all the way through the finish line.
And there was fortune at the finish line. At the end of the night I was in need of a little candy from the candy machine for the ride home, so I put my $1 bill in the machine, hit B3 for a bag of Skittles and lo-and-behold what comes out but 2 bags of Skittles. I knew it was my lucky night. Can’t wait for next week and I especially cannot wait until Michael has the opportunity to egg us on once again.

Always love filling in for Trister. You guys rock. In case he has Ebola or something long term, I’m always around….
