2008-11-14_larryanddrummers December 23, 2008 at Carroll’s. I was there, of course, with the returning duo of Coffee and Trister followed by Kevin, Scott, Rich. I recall my brother Jay stopped by with his new girlfirend Andrea who I met for the first time that night. I sent them running with my rendition of a Looks Like Rain. It probably really wasn’t too bad. She and Jay came by my house for Christmas Day festivities a couple of days later. It was all Chanuka if you recall.

2008-11-08_0586 December 17, 2008 at Carroll’s and we attracted a big band. This was Deadstein with guests, old and new. First we had Trsiter on lead and he brought his buddy Halfstep Scott who was playing his newly acquired Bob Weir Ibanez. tree of life beauty. In addition, Coffee came back for a week and so did Scott’s friend Andrew playing sax and flute. He had a classic Jerry Garcia Songbook version 1 or 2. Real retro. It was a big festival for everyone. I played a few songs with the Bob Weir guitar and it was really cool. It wad a 3-channel EQ and was made with beautiful craftmanship. It was quite the instrument.

We were displaced from our comfortable home during the holiday season and ended up and Smash with all that is bad about Smash. If I recall, we were in the smallest room and it was terrible. Larry Racking it In

We haven’t played away from our home at Carroll’s in a long time, but they were booked and we weren’t the early bird so we end up in UltraSound. It will be different for sure with amps on the wall, none of them what we use. The room will be tiny forcing us into the staircase just to get a breather. I’m sure the room will be dry and the PA, even drier. In addition, we will be starting at 8:30 a half hour later than usual. It will make us realize how fortunate we are to play at Carroll’s but it will also make us realize how lucky we are that we strive to play week in and week out and a booked Carroll’s won’t stop us.

We are expecting Jason on guitar, Rich, Kevin, Scott and I. A bunch of Grateful Dead and a bunch of new music produced. Tough to have more fun than that. Analog style.

In the world, the market has tanked every day since the election and the economy’s house of cards is tumbling down. Nevertheless, the Giants continue to look unstoppable. Even the Jets do. We are experiencing some major upside-down earth cake so you better try to hold onto whatever terra-forma you have.
